Dua for Sighting the Moon (Hilal)

When the Prophet ﷺ saw the crescent, he would say: "Allahumma ahillahu 'alayna bil-amni wal-iman, was-salamati wal-Islam. Rabbi wa Rabbuka Allah, hilalurushdin wa khayr." (O Allah, let this moon appear on us with security and faith, safety and Islam. My Lord and your Lord is Allah, a moon of guidance and good).

Intentions (Niyyah)

• Intend to fast the entire month for Allah's sake.
• Intend to complete the Quran and reflect on it.
• Intend sincere repentance and self-improvement.
• Intend to feed others and give charity.

Supplications for Early Days

"O Allah, help us to fast its days and stand in prayer at its nights, protect us from errors and sins, and grant us Your remembrance and gratitude."

"O Allah, keep us safe for Ramadan, keep Ramadan safe for us, and accept it from us."
